Critical Evaluation:
Although popularized on the social media platform, 'Twitch,' the game is now extremely popular with high school-aged teenagers who play at all times, both at home and at school. It apparently is an easy to understand game play making it easy to watch. There is a bit of killing going on. Although the characters are graphical, there is stabbing and communication is essential in the game, to ensure you are not killed and finding out who the "imposter" is.
Challenge Issues:
Violence. I will defend it with Library Bill of Rights and The Los Angeles County Library Collections Policy. I also will be encouraged to do active listening, and empathy.
Why I Chose It
It's popular among the teens. It is a good entry point to connect to them, although I'm not a fan of violent games and look down upon them. If I want to connect with the teens, I need to meet them where they are at. Even if I don't play it. My daughter loves this game.
