Things continue to unfold as other folks get the letters and she has to pretend a relationship to feel she is holding on to some sense of dignity.
Critical Evaluation:
It has a strong flawed protagonist, Lara, who is shy and smart, and isn't insecure about her intelligence. There is strong synergy between Condor and Lara's chemistry. A huge plus is the Asian American representation, with multidimensional characters on the screen. Lara remains true to herself and that is an important theme reflected to young people, specifically young women.
Content Warnings:
Mild sexual language, underage drinking,
Challenge Issue Resources:
Library Bill of Rights resource and Los Angeles County Library Collection Policy.
